Anu S. wrote in to tell us about her wonderful experience with her dogs at Rip Van Winkle Open Space, a small open space dog area bordering Pebble Beach in Monterey County:

"Rip Van Winkle Open space in Pebble Beach was one of the coolest places we have taken our dogs. It is a tiny little place, but completely leash free and full of trails. Our dogs were ecstatic and we met lovely people. I've never seen happier dogs. I love Rip Van Winkle Open Space almost as much as Carmel Beach, but it was nice not having to clean them up after the beach."

We love hearing paw-tested stories from our readers and want to share them with other DogTrekkers. Please join our growing group of official ‘Paw-Testers’ by writing in to tell us about your favorite dog-friendly places in California.

Share your favorite California dog experience, along with a photo or two, and we’ll post your trek in this section. Thanks and happy DogTrekking!
