Coco is a happy, healthy girl in search of her forever home.
In January, when she first landed at Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA, it was another story entirely. She had a severe skin infection that had caused a lot of hair loss, and she was shut down and fearful. But the PHS veterinary staff started treating her skin miseries, while volunteers and training staff worked on her confidence.
Soon Coco was feeling a whole lot better, and now this two-year-old pit bull with the David Bowie eyes is showing her true self: happy, energetic, and playful.
Peninsula Humane is now offering a class for dogs like Coco who need a bit of confidence-building. The Shy Dogs class is for dogs six months of age and older who are fearful of strangers, new dogs, and/or some environments. The next class starts August 4 and will cover basic obedience, as well as issues of shy dog safety, building confidence, introducing the dog to new situations and people, and interactions with people and other dogs. Find out more, and help your shy pooch feel more secure and have more fun!
