Say cheers to pup-friendly tasting rooms

A vibrant dog park bathed in sunlight features abundant greenery with mature trees, offering ample shade for leisurely outdoor activities. In the distance is a well-equipped playground that presents an additional activity area. An inviting picnic table spreads out nearby, ideal for enjoying meals al fresco or taking relaxing breaks from play. A neatly-placed trash bin aids in maintaining the park's cleanliness for everyone's enjoyment. Dominating the scene is a generously wide dirt path gracefully curving through the expanse of grass, promising exploratory walks and lively fetch games.

Sacramento’s culinary stars include creative chefs along with innovative winemakers, brewers and distillers. Tasting rooms and taprooms dot the city’s neighborhoods, and nearby day-trip destinations offer additional places to sip and sample. Whether you want to try new releases or sought-after favorites, Sacramento’s dog-friendly tasting venues are sure to please.

Craft beer is big in Sacramento, and many taprooms accommodate pups. Confirm leash policies before you visit, and then order up a pint. Track 7 Brewing got its start in Curtis Park and recently opened a second taproom in Natomas, near the Sacramento Kings’ arena. Both spots welcome families with dogs. 

In downtown Sacramento, Urban Roots Brewery & Smokehouse and its spinoff, Bawk! by Urban Roots, serve beer and bites in dog-friendly digs. Head to West Sacramento’s Bridge District for The Barn, a two-acre campus by Drake’s Brewing. The team serves food, beer, wine and cocktails at picnic tables and lawn areas that accommodate leashed pups. 

Fans of California wine appreciate the pairings at Revolution Winery & Kitchen, known for local, vegan and gluten-free food. Patio seats are a favorite of guests with dogs. The Clarksburg American Viticultural Area is set in the scenic Sacramento River Delta, about 15 miles south of Sacramento. Here, Scribner Bend Vineyards has family-friendly, dog-friendly outdoor tables and an on-site pizza kitchen. The Freeport Bar & Grill has a pleasant patio, while the bistro at Freeport Wine Country Inn offers garden dining plus a wide-ranging wine menu.
