Bay area vistas are the star of the scenery show at historic Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito. Set on national park grounds in Marin County that once housed a former military base (Fort Baker), this award-winning property offers historic rooms as well as new, uber-eco-friendly contemporary rooms. No matter what room type you book, epic Golden Gate Bridge views, abundant green spaces and exquisite cuisine await.

In addition to being LEED certified for green building practices and voted a Condé Nast Traveler reader favorite, Cavallo Point Lodge was also recently awarded two Michelin keys from the prestigious guide’s first class of California hotel ratings, which recognized it as an exceptional place to stay.

Pup parents can book the hotel’s curated Eco Luxe Pups program, which costs $150 for the stay for up to two dogs. Amenities include a collection of environmentally friendly, organic and sustainable dog products made by local San Francisco and Marin businesses. Upon arrival, receive a pet swag bag and in-room products including luxurious bedding, custom food and water bowls by Sausalito Pottery, organic cookies and treats.

The terrace in front of Farley restaurant is perfect for dining with your pup, be it lunch, dinner or cocktails in between adventures. In accordance with National Park Service rules, dogs must be leashed at all times while on property and are not permitted to be left alone in guest rooms. Fortunately, you’ll find plenty of pet-friendly open spaces to explore. Rodeo Beach and Remington Dog Park are two nearby stops recommended by the hotel.
