Not long ago Phoebe (black) and Henry (blond) were tiny puppies, facing a bleak future in a rural California shelter with few resources and little foot traffic. Luckily for them, the shelter called on Waggin' Trails Rescue Foundation in Huntington Beach, and things were quickly looking up. With volunteers around the state, Waggin' Trails came to the rescue fast.
It was all in a day's work for Waggin' Trails, which works with overwhelmed shelters to get dogs in need to a safe place where they can have their basic needs addressed and receive lots of love while waiting for their forever homes—and sometimes, take a plane flight to destinations like Calgary, where eager adopters await them.
Phoebe and Henry have been getting the medical attention to ensure that they'll thrive, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchipping. Also important, they've received a lot of puppy socialization. They're now cute, sweet, healthy, and waiting to go home. Maybe with you? Saving dogs like these little guys takes a lot of community support and hard work from many volunteers. It also takes money for food, vet bills, and all the other things the dogs need while they're waiting. Coming up December 13 is the Wags N Wine Holiday Party, a dog-welcoming event with great food, a silent auction, and live music for a festive, fund-raising evening. Join the party!
