Pasadena Humane’s annual Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run is one of the nonprofit’s largest annual fundraisers, and it is especially significant this year. The organization has served more than 1,000 animals impacted by the recent Eaton Fire, and it continues providing lifesaving care, food and emergency boarding for pets whose families have been impacted. This year’s Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run takes place at Brookside Park, adjacent to the legendary Rose Bowl, between 8 and 11 a.m. The event schedule includes annual walk and run festivities, a doggie costume contest, and access to the Sit, Stay, and Play! Training Park. Attendees can also purchase food truck fare and stroll an extensive vendor marketplace.
Established in 1903, Pasadena Humane is a community-supported animal resource center that provides compassionate services for all animals. The organization operates shelter space and programs that help Greater Los Angeles-area households care for and keep their pets. Pasadena Humane offers free and low-cost spay/neuter services and vaccines, a pet food pantry, and an animal support call center, along with pet fostering and adoption programs.
In the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, the nonprofit has treated animals suffering from singed paws, burns, smoke inhalation, dehydration and other challenges. And in 2023, as Pasadena Humane celebrated its 120th anniversary, team members served more than 47,000 animals through adoptions, wildlife rehabilitation, lost and found connections, veterinary services, training classes, and surrender prevention assistance.
