Land of Medicine Buddha is located on 108 acres of ancient redwood groves and sunny oak meadows; it's a perfect place to allow the serenity and magic to wash away your cares and woes.

Dogs are sentient beings too! Land of Medicine Buddha provides 3 dog friendly rooms. They welcome dogs during retreats provided:

There is someone who is not participating in the retreat who is available to watch the dog during the day. (Dogs are not to be left alone in rooms.)

• There is a 2 dog limit per room.
• Dogs cannot be larger than 50 pounds.
• There is a $50 non-refundable deposit per dog.

Note: There are lots of four legged friends who visit the center. In order to maintain harmony, all dogs must be on leash at all times.

The hills surrounding Land of Medicine Buddha are covered with beautiful groves of redwoods, lush ferns, seasonal flowers, the sound of gentle water trickling in the creek below and the occasional sightings of deer and other indigenous animals that call Land of Medicine Buddha home.

The Eight Verses Pilgrimage Loop is complete with signs comprised of teachings on transforming problems into spiritual practice and benches for contemplation and meditation.

Both the lower and upper areas of the property have many holy objects, including prayer wheels to spin (clockwise), bells to ring (softly), temples to look at and circumambulate (walk around).

Please note that this is NOT an entrance to the state park. The entrance to Nisene Marks State Park is at Aptos Creek Fire Rd, Aptos, CA 95003.

Parking: priority is given to people who are participating in courses, retreats, and other programs at Land of Medicine Buddha. Day visitors may have to park outside. Look for signs. Weekends are especially busy.

Dogs must be on leash while on Land of Medicine Buddha Property. This includes all the trails, the meadow, the parking lot, driveways, and around the buildings. Please pick up after your dog. There is a poop station next to the electric gate as you enter the upper part of the land. There you can find bags and a bin in which to put full bags.

• Dogs on leash are welcome
