The scenic 1.5-mile long South Bank Trail offers a nice place to stroll with your dog. The trail begins at the intersection of Rancho San Carlos Road and Valley Greens Drive in Carmel Valley.

Dogs must be leashed. For your convenience, you will find rest-stop benches and mutt-mitt dispensers along the way.

Dog-lovers from around the world know leash-free Carmel Beach as a primo place to visit with dogs. But that’s hardly the only place in Monterey County where your untethered dog can have as much fun and freedom as you do.
