This mile long beach is considered “Dog Beach” because canines can roam leash-free.

Toro Creek Beach is a wide sandy beach that can be rocky when winter storms rob it of sand.

Highway 1 and a bank of dunes are right behind the beach. A boot-beaten trail meanders along the top of the dunes with nice photo opportunities along the way.

Morro Rock is clearly visible to the south and the Cayucos Pier is in the distance to the north. There are parking spaces along Highway 1 between Toro Creek Road and the bridge over Toro Creek.

Help us keep this beach beautiful and dog-friendly:
• Always follow the posted rules
• Respect natural marine life and habitats
• Be aware of tides and currents
• Pack in and pack out, leaving only paw prints

San Simeon Cove, San Luis Obispo County. Tucked beneath William Randolph Hearst’s famous castle, San Simeon Cove is a jewel of a place with emerald water and ample space for dogs to romp. Off-leash dogs aren’t allowed on adjacent Hearst Memorial State Beach, so if you want to unclip, simply walk a few hundred feet to the right of the pier where signs announced the beach boundary. more »
