A journey to Mono County will take you to a California you didn’t even imagine existed. A land of lava and ice, sparkling clear waters and pastel desert. Because once you’re out here, you’ll start to remember what beauty looks like, and the healing power of nature. Welcome to California’s Great Beyond.

A great place to begin your journey is the Mammoth Lakes California Welcome Center, where you will find maps, visitor guides and knowledgeable locals who know how to enjoy this very special place on earth. This center is unique, as it is a collaboration of multiple agencies, including US Forest Service, National Park Service, Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Eastern Sierra Interpretive Center.
