A man and woman navigate the winding trails of a lush forest, accompanied by their small dog. Each carries a backpack, ready for the day's adventure. The man wears comfortable shorts and a T-shirt, while the woman opts for shorts paired with a sleeveless top. Sunlight seeps gently through the canopy above, casting dappled patterns on the path beneath their feet as they explore this serene setting together with their canine companion.

GOCAL is known as the gateway to SoCal, but it’s also the gateway to outdoor fun! And who better to join you on an outdoor adventure than your favorite fur friend? Thanks to the region’s sheer variety of dog-friendly trails, you and your pup can choose from paved urban pathways to scenic mountain hikes. There’s something for every type of adventurer, all within a short drive.

The Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail stretches from Rancho Cucamonga to Claremont, offering a scenic, paved path across multiple cities, ideal for a leisurely walk or jog with your dog. Red Hill Community Park, also in Rancho Cucamonga, provides a perfect spot for a casual stroll, complete with shaded areas, open fields and a dedicated dog park for some off-leash fun. If you’re looking for breathtaking panoramic views, Mount Rubidoux in Riverside is a popular 3-mile round-trip hike where leashed dogs are welcome.

For those seeking a moderately challenging hike, Claremont Hills Wilderness Park features a beautiful 5-mile loop with picturesque valley views. For a scenic mountain adventure, Ice House Canyon Trail in Mount Baldy is a fantastic option. This trail features beautiful streams, lush forests and alpine views. The 7.2-mile round-trip hike is great for experienced hikers and their leashed dogs who are ready for an invigorating trek.

Wherever you go, remember to bring plenty of water!
