Those spotted ears! Meet cute, snuggly Celery, a silly young thing currently in search of her BFF at Home at Last Rescue. Her vet calls this young pit bull mix "a happy, healthy mutt," which she shows by her gentle, loyal demeanor. She enjoys moderate activity like daily walks, but also thrives on scratches, belly rubs, and the comforts of domestic life. She returns the favor by having excellent housetraining skills and sleeping through the night peacefully in her crate. Find out all about her here.
Home at Last got its start in the late '90s in Berkeley, where conditions at the city shelter were pretty dire and relatively few dogs and cats got out alive. A group of volunteers started taking the dogs for daily walks to improve their socialization and adoptability, and one thing led to another. Along with many other burgeoning rescue groups, Home at Last was able to greatly increase the number of both cats and dogs rescued by getting them out of the shelter and into foster homes until they could find their forever homes. Thanks to grants and support from the Berkeley Animal Shelter and many others, Home at Last has also been able to provide medical care and rehabilitation for many of these rescued animals.
