Your shasta cascade adventure starts in Redding

By: DogTrekker Staff

With mountains all around, miles of dog-friendly hiking and biking trails, the Sacramento River running through it and Lassen National Park nearby, Redding is an outdoor paradise for young and old. Cradled by Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen, and blessed by sunshine much of the year, it’s a great place to escape the gray days of winter and make base camp for year-round recreation.

Let the good times flow by staking your claim at a dog-friendly lodging property such as the Red Lion Hotel, a DogTrekker favorite right off Interstate 5; Marriott properties Fairfield Inn & Suites and TownePlace Suites by Marriott, both of which offer free Wi-Fi and breakfast; or Oxford Suites, where rates include an evening manager’s reception, hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi and premium bedding.

If you’re looking for something more intimate where you can “meet the locals,” check out the B&B accommodations offered by Bridgehouse B&B and Redding’s B&B, the former a two-house establishment with one dog-friendly room, the later a farmhouse with three dog-friendly bedrooms for rent on the second floor.

Editor’s note: if you are traveling by RV, note that DogTrekker.com has now added new sections in each of the areas we cover under the RV Parks tab. Seven of the seventeen RV Parks in this area are in the town of Redding.
