Founded in Oakland in 1874, the East Bay SPCA is an independent, privately funded organization that operates two adoption facilities, one in Oakland and one in Dublin, as well as a spay/neuter clinic in Oakland. Over the last decade, EBSPCA has placed more than 25,000 dogs and cats in loving homes. Papaya-East Bay SPCAAmong the guest stars appearing at Growl, Meow & Wine, along with her adopters, is Papaya, a 14-year-old Chihuahua that EBSPCA rescued from another shelter where she was in danger of being euthanized due to her advanced age.
