Take a day trip or stay overnight at the Dog & Pony Ranch — a private and dog-friendly ranch in the Sierra foothills about an hour from Sacramento. Guests can bring their pups to run off-leash and explore 60 acres of fully fenced land on several miles of hiking trails. When you arrive, there is a brief orientation tour for the many things to do on the ranch including the dog-friendly swimming pond.
Next, you and your dogs will get to meet the barn animals (horses, mini donkeys and chickens). After animal interactions have been safely enjoyed, you have free time to explore the ranch with access to the people-amenities too. Rest assured that you won’t see any other guests during your visit as there is a locked gate with no drop-ins permitted. All friendly dogs welcome including all breeds and sizes!

- Maximum number allowed: As many as get along well together (Yes, as many as 5-6 dogs are welcome!)
- Pets must be up-to-date on rabies vaccinations and not have any contagious diseases. Dogs should be relatively flea free with recent flea and tick treatment recommended especially during cold-weather tick season.
