Strolling on the beach. Chilling on the couch. Mai Tai is definitely up for both those things and can't wait to meet you to discuss it all. This 2-year-old boxer girl doesn't let her tripod status slow her down a bit, and her zest for life is matched by her good manners. Adults, kids, dogs, puppies, she loves them all. Restaurants? Coffee shops? Car rides? She's your perfect companion.

Mai Tai may have had a hard time before she landed at San Diego-based California Labradors, Retrievers and More Rescue, but those days are definitely behind her and she's ready to blend effortlessly into life with her new family. Learn more about her here.

Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 2011, Labs and More—supported entirely by donations—has rescued more than 7,900 dogs so far, sending them on to new homes throughout Southern California. With over 100 volunteer foster homes, rescued dogs are able to settle in and show their true selves, making it easier to find their perfect compatible match.  Once your application has been submitted and you have completed the approval process, weekly adoption events offer lots of meet-and-greet opportunities, and all dogs are spayed/neutered, current on their shots, and microchipped. Fill out your adoption application and learn more about the adoption process here.

One thing that sets Labs and More apart is the group's focus on saving dogs who often stand little chance in the shelter system, particularly injured, pregnant, senior, at-risk, and mixed breed dogs. You'll find lots of mamas and puppies on Labs and More's adoption page, along with dogs like Mai Tai who are doing great now that they've received much-needed medical attention. Says one volunteer, "I am proud to volunteer with an organization that works so hard to take the dogs that others leave behind!"

If you're in the San Diego area and would like to help out, Labs and More would love to hear from you—fill out a volunteer or foster form!
