Alice’s Dog Park

18840 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, California

Alice’s Dog Park sits in a wide clearing just off Soledad Canyon Road, with the Santa Clarita foothills rising behind it—dry chaparral and scattered oak in the distance. The ground is mostly packed dirt and sparse grass that drains well even after rain, though it’s not particularly soft underfoot. At roughly 1,500 feet elevation with minimal slope, the park requires no serious hiking to access. The space itself feels larger than its actual size because fencing and barriers are minimal, and scattered trees provide patches of shade throughout. Soledad Canyon Road runs close by, which means traffic noise is audible, but the park sits far enough back that dogs aren’t in any danger.

Dogs run off-leash throughout the main area, which accommodates mixed-size groups well. A separate smaller enclosure exists for tiny or shy dogs, though it receives less traffic. Hours run from sunrise to sunset year-round. The park rarely feels congested even at peak times—it’s not one of the packed urban dog parks in Los Angeles proper. Water stations are available near the entry; bring a collapsible bowl or use the hose near the shaded picnic tables. Weekday afternoons in fall and winter often mean you’ll have the place largely to yourself, while summer mornings draw crowds before the heat peaks. Between May and September, the exposed ground gets hot by midday, so bring water for both yourself and your dog.

The nearest trail access into the foothills proper is a few miles east if you want a longer hike after the dog park visit.
