The main draw here is actually simple: direct access to Lake Tahoe’s water and a genuine beach where your dog can run, swim, and dig without worrying about being somewhere they shouldn’t be. The lodge sits right on the water with its own pier and marina, so if you’re into boating or water activities, it’s convenient to launch from here.

The rooms are spread across the property, and if you’re going with a dog, request one of the first-floor Standard Rooms with a patio. You get direct access outside, which makes those middle-of-the-night bathroom breaks and early morning walks much easier than dealing with elevators and hallways. After your dog does their business, you’re steps away from the beach.

Two restaurants on the property mean you don’t have to venture far for meals, though you’ll probably want to eat outside when the weather’s nice so your dog can hang with you. The whole South Lake Tahoe area has decent hiking nearby — the trails through the alpine forests are genuinely pretty, and they offer varying difficulty levels depending on how ambitious you’re feeling. The trails aren’t right at the lodge, but they’re close enough for a morning or afternoon outing.

The beach itself is the real attraction. Your dog can actually swim in the lake here, wade in the shallows, and play in the sand without restriction.
