The Best Western Plus Dixon Davis sits right on Commercial Way in the heart of Dixon’s business district, a straightforward two-story motel with a modest outdoor pool and clean, functional rooms. The location puts you a block from the city’s main drag with decent walkability to a few local spots, though it’s not particularly scenic—you’re here for convenience and a bed, not atmosphere. The rooms are standard chain fare with the expected basics, and a few have microwaves and refrigerators if you need them.
Dogs stay free, which is the main draw. There’s no published weight limit, and the hotel accepts dogs in designated rooms without charging extra. You’ll want to confirm your room assignment when checking in to make sure they’ve assigned you to a pet-friendly unit. The staff we encountered were matter-of-fact about dogs—nothing effusive, just straightforward about where you could and couldn’t bring them. Keep your dog out of the office and common areas beyond the hallways to your room.
The pool area is fenced, so if you’re desperate for a swim, your dog won’t be able to join you there. For actual walking, you’re in an industrial and commercial part of town, so the immediate surroundings are parking lots and retail. Head east about half a mile toward the residential neighborhoods or, better yet, drive ten minutes south to Grislake Park, which has open space and a small loop you can do with a dog on-leash. The motel sits about a mile north of Downtown Dixon’s main pedestrian stretch along North First Street if you want to walk into the actual town core. Highway 99 is nearby and fairly loud at night, so request a room on the back side if traffic noise bothers you.
