Centennial Dog Park

501 Browns Valley Pkwy., Vacaville, California 95688

Centennial Dog Park in Vacaville is a genuinely useful spot if you’re traveling through Solano County with your dog. The park has separate play areas for large and small dogs, which makes a real difference when you’ve got a dog who gets overwhelmed by bigger animals or one that needs room to really move around.

What I appreciated most was how well-maintained the grounds are. There’s ample seating scattered throughout, so you can actually supervise your dog without standing the whole time, and water stations are positioned so you’re not hunting around trying to figure out where to get your dog a drink. The park is clearly a community project that people have put thought into.

The location itself is pretty convenient if you’re passing through Vacaville or staying in the area. It’s accessible enough that you won’t waste half your day trying to find it. One thing to keep in mind: this is an open park without a lot of shade coverage, so on hot days bring water for yourself too and dress accordingly. Bring good shoes because the ground can be uneven in spots.

The separate sections for large and small dogs mean you can choose based on your dog’s size and temperament, which is helpful if you want your smaller dog to play without getting knocked around, or if your bigger dog needs space to stretch out without worrying about stepping on a Chihuahua. The park does get sun exposure pretty much all day, so morning or late afternoon visits tend to be more comfortable in warmer months.

This is a straightforward, functional dog park that delivers what it promises without pretense. If you’re in Vacaville and your dog needs some off-leash time and socialization, it does the job well.
