Culver City Dog Park, also known as “The Boneyard,” is a popular off-leash dog park situated within Culver City Park in Los Angeles County. Spanning a little over 1 acre, the space has separate areas for small and large dogs, which means you don’t have to worry about your smaller dog getting bowled over by a enthusiastic 80-pounder, or conversely, your big dog feeling cramped around tiny breeds.

When we visited with our dog, we appreciated the layout immediately. The park has benches scattered throughout where you can actually sit and watch while your dog plays, and there’s genuinely useful shade from established trees plus temporary structures that offer shelter when the sun gets intense or on rare rainy days. That matters more than you’d think if you’re planning to spend more than fifteen minutes there.

One thing that stood out was how the separate sections actually work in practice. The small dog area keeps things manageable for dogs under twenty pounds or so, while the large dog section gives bigger dogs real room to run and play without constant interference. We noticed regulars who clearly knew each other, and there’s a real sense of community among people who bring their dogs here regularly.

The park itself is clean and well-maintained, and the fencing is solid. You’ll want to bring water for your dog since it gets warm in Culver City during summer months, and while there are water stations, having your own means your dog doesn’t have to share bowls with every other dog in the park. The parking situation at Culver City Park is straightforward, with accessible lots near the dog park area, so you’re not hauling your dog across a massive lot on a hot day.

If your dog enjoys socializing and you want a reliable local spot that doesn’t feel overcrowded, this is worth the trip.
