Daggett Plaza Dog Run

Daggett Plaza Dog Run

San Francisco, California 94107

Daggett Plaza’s dog run occupies a corner of the Bayview neighborhood with genuine grassland—not the hard-packed dirt you find at many urban parks. The layout gives you real separation: a smaller enclosure for dogs under 25 pounds and a larger section for the rest, which means you’re not watching a 70-pound lab accidentally steamroll a nervous terrier. Mature trees ring the perimeter, so there are legitimate shaded spots to stand during those fog-free afternoons when the sun actually shows up in this part of the city.

Dogs can roam freely throughout the fenced area once they’re through the double-gate entry. There’s a water fountain for refilling bowls, though you’ll want to bring your own bowl since it’s a standard municipal fountain. The park follows standard San Francisco rules: dogs must be spayed or neutered, wear current rabies tags, and be under owner control at all times. Off-leash play is allowed only within the fenced dog run itself.

The park sits at the foot of the Bayview neighborhood near industrial waterfront areas, so it’s less trafficked than downtown dog runs. Hours follow city park schedules—typically open from dawn to dusk. The grass surface drains reasonably well even after rain, though winter can get soft in patches. Mornings tend quieter than late afternoons when local dog owners wrap up their workdays. The run itself is modest in size, maybe a quarter-acre total, so it fills up noticeably on weekends. Bring a long leash for the walk to and from your car; the surrounding streets are fairly industrial and don’t have sidewalk parks.
