This Mexican restaurant in an attractive garden setting is a reasonably priced, dog-friendly oasis at Santana Row, San Jose's artfullly conceived shopping, dining and entertainment district.
A huge, gnarly oak tree spreads its branches over patio tables where shoppers can stop in for a drink or settle in for a meal. Strolling Mariachis, salsa lessons and karaoke sessions add an occasional entertainment element to a menu that includes Mexican classics and dozens of small plates.
And don't overlook the bar: the tequila menu alone includes more than 200 selections. El Jardin is under the same ownership as the high-end Consuelo Mexican Bistro across the road.
Closed on rainy days.
