Extended Stay America – LAX is a solid choice if you’re flying into LAX with your dog and need somewhere to stay for more than just a night or two. The recently renovated rooms have new flooring, fresh paint, upgraded bedding, and flat-screen TVs, so you’re not dealing with the typical tired hotel room feeling. They allow dogs in the rooms without making a huge production out of it, which is refreshing.

The location near Los Angeles International Airport means you’re close to the airport if you need to catch a flight, but you’re also positioned near some of the food and drink options around the LAX area. Since you’re staying in a room with a kitchenette setup (which is typical for Extended Stay properties), you can prepare some meals yourself, which helps when you don’t want to leave your dog alone for long stretches while you’re out exploring. That said, if you want to grab dinner or drinks in the surrounding neighborhood, there are plenty of options within a reasonable distance.

The hotel has pet waste stations and designated walking areas, so you won’t struggle to take care of basic needs with your dog. Coming from a recent stay here, I appreciated that they don’t treat dogs like an afterthought — there’s actually infrastructure in place to make it work. The rooms are quiet enough that your dog won’t be stressed out by constant hallway noise, which matters if you’re dealing with an anxious traveler.

If you’re planning a longer stay in the LAX area and want a reasonably comfortable room with space to spread out, this works well. Just keep in mind that the neighborhood immediately around the hotel is pretty airport-adjacent, so you’ll want to drive or use a rideshare to reach the more interesting dining scenes further into Los Angeles.
