There’s a water station for dogs, though it’s worth bringing a collapsible bowl or bottle since the quality of available water can be inconsistent. The park has limited shade—mostly along the perimeter where larger trees grow—so mornings and late afternoons are more comfortable on hot days. Peak times tend to cluster around 4 to 6 p.m. when people leave work, and weekends draw steady crowds, so if your dog prefers calmer conditions, aim for midday or early morning visits.
The park occupies the lot at 7th Street between a residential neighborhood and local streets, making parking straightforward if sometimes tight on weekends. Hours run dawn to dusk year-round. The terrain is relatively flat with no steep hills or obstacles to navigate, which works well for senior dogs or those still building confidence. Bring poop bags—the park provides stations but they run out—and plan for about 45 minutes to an hour if you want your dog to properly tire out. The grass can get muddy during rainy season, so hose-off options at home are worth considering.
