Ingleside Inn sits on a quiet stretch of Palm Springs, just a short walk from the shops and restaurants downtown but far enough removed to feel genuinely peaceful. The main building is an actual 1920s Spanish-style estate that belonged to someone with serious taste—you can tell from the architectural details and the way the property is laid out across two acres. There are 30 rooms and suites scattered across the grounds, and they’ve kept that romantic, slightly old-Hollywood vibe without making it feel stuck in the past.
I stayed here with my dog and appreciated that they genuinely welcome dogs without treating it like a special exception. The property has enough space that you’re not feeling cramped, and the grounds give you room to walk your dog around without being in anyone’s way. The rooms themselves are comfortable with that mix of vintage character and modern amenities you’d actually want—good beds, reliable plumbing, AC that works.
The whole place has a relaxed energy. You can have a drink at the bar, sit by the pool area, or just retreat to your room and actually feel like you’ve left the regular world behind. Because it’s set back from the main tourist drag, it’s quieter than some of the bigger resort properties in town, which honestly matters when you’re traveling with a dog who might be adjusting to a new place.
The location works well if you want access to downtown Palm Springs but don’t want to be in the thick of it. From here you can easily get to Canyon Road or head into town proper in a few minutes. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’ve discovered something, even though it’s been there since the ’20s.
