Dogs of all sizes can use the water stations scattered throughout, though you’ll want to bring a bowl since the fountains are designed more for human height. Both sections have decent tree coverage along the perimeter, but midday sun exposure is real here during summer months. There are benches for humans, and a small entry vestibule with double gates to prevent escapes. The park is open sunrise to sunset daily, with peak congestion typically happening late afternoon on weekends when people filter over from the entertainment venues nearby.
The location itself is extremely accessible—it’s walking distance from the STAPLES Center and the various restaurants and bars on Olympic Boulevard and along the Figueroa Corridor. Parking is available in the underground and surface lots that serve the L.A. LIVE complex, though weekend rates can add up if you stay longer than an hour or two. The surrounding neighborhood is concrete-heavy; there’s no real neighborhood walk beforehand, so expect to head straight into the park.
