Founded by the Larsen family in the 1860s, this is the longest family-owned Apple Hill farm, and walking through the property feels like stepping into California’s agricultural history. You’ll find over 20 varieties of apples picked right here on the ranch—everything from Honeycrisp and Granny Smith to heirloom varieties you won’t see at regular grocery stores. Beyond apples, there’s a wonderful array of pears, grapes, dried fruits, and fresh juices pressed on-site.
The Bake Shop is worth a visit on its own. The smell hits you before you walk in—piping hot apple pies, turnovers, and dumplings come out of the ovens throughout the day. They also make specialty pies with other fruits from the ranch, and you can grab items to eat there or take with you.
If you’re hungry for something more substantial, the deli serves lunch with options that pair well with the farm’s products. After eating, the Larsen Family Museum offers a chance to learn about the family’s century-plus legacy here and how the property has evolved.
What really sets this place apart for visiting with your dog is the expansive grass-covered park spread across the property. Ancient apple trees provide shade, and there are picturesque waterfalls, arching bridges, and plenty of space to explore. Dogs can roam and sniff around the grounds while you wander between the various farm buildings and orchards. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours—picking up fresh produce, grabbing something to eat, touring the museum, and just letting your dog burn off energy in the open space.
The combination of working farm, food, history, and open grounds makes it feel like more than just a roadside fruit stand. It’s actually a destination worth planning time for when you’re heading through the Apple Hill region.
