The tasting room sits on Highway 128 with views across the Anderson Valley vineyards. The patio features real shade structure built to accommodate dogs and their owners, rather than treating them as an afterthought. The owners have dogs themselves, so property dogs often move through the space, which sets a relaxed tone immediately. Inside, the tasting room is human-only, but the patio bar allows you to taste wines while your dog settles on the ground beside you, with vineyard views across the valley floor. Food pairings are available—charcuterie and snacks that complement the wine selection—so you can spend an afternoon without leaving to eat elsewhere.
Dogs can roam the patio freely during tastings with no weight restriction or additional fee. The tasting room does not include dogs in formal vineyard tours through the rows, but you can walk your dog around the grounds to get a feel for the landscape. Anderson Valley sits about 40 minutes inland from the coast, and Philo is small enough that you’ll want to plan your day around multiple stops. The valley produces Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer, cooler-climate wines shaped by fog rolling through the gaps between ridges. Parking is straightforward along Highway 128 directly in front of the tasting room.
Summer afternoons can get warm, making the shade structure valuable. Arriving before noon helps avoid heat if you’re visiting with a dog sensitive to temperature.
