Ocean Cove Lodge sits on a bluff above the Russian River’s mouth where it meets the Pacific, and the sound of water is constant—you’ll hear it from your cabin watching the river flow or gazing at swells rolling in. The property consists of individual cabins scattered across coastal scrubland, some perched right at the edge with unobstructed views, others set back among native plants. Each cabin is self-contained with private outdoor space around it—patios, decks, and yard areas that vary by unit. Some cabins come with grills and full kitchen setups; others have kitchenettes. Cabin options range from basic one-room cottages to multi-room units, including some with hot tubs and fireplaces. The location sits just north of Jenner, where Highway 1 meets the coast. Salt Point State Park, known for its dramatic sandstone formations and bluff trails, is a short drive south. The Russian River beach access is essentially your backyard.
Dogs stay free with no size or number restrictions and can sleep in your cabin. Since each cabin is self-contained with no shared walls or hallway access, there are no concerns about dogs disturbing neighbors. The lodge itself doesn’t have a central gathering space—no dining hall or lobby where dogs would need to be left behind. This setup allows you to cook meals on your deck while your dog has the run of your private property without leashes. The terrain is open and rocky rather than fenced, so confident recall or a long line works better than assuming boundaries.
Trails on the grounds are minimal; this location works better as a base for exploring the surrounding coastline rather than as a hiking destination in itself. Winter storms can close coastal access roads, and fog persists even in summer months, so verify conditions before planning specific outdoor adventures. The lodge operates year-round, and rates vary significantly by season and cabin configuration.
