Point Isabel Dog Park

Point Isabel Dog Park

Point Isabel Dog Park

2701 Isabel Street, Richmond, California 94804

(888) 327-2757

Point Isabel sits at the edge of the Richmond waterfront, where the main off-leash area sprawls across open grass and decomposed granite with Bay views visible the entire time. On clear days you can see the Golden Gate Bridge from certain spots. The constant breeze off the water keeps things cooler than inland parks, and mature trees throughout the grounds provide real shade. The terrain is forgiving—grass and decomposed granite won’t tear up paws or cause slipping—though the ground stays damp near water features and irrigation areas even days after rain. Water bowls are available throughout the park, and the parking lot sits right at the entrance on Isabel Street with less than a minute’s walk to the off-leash area.

Dogs of all sizes roam the main enclosure together. A separate small-dog area is available for smaller dogs or those who need calmer company. Both spaces are fully fenced. Hours run from dawn to dusk year-round. There are no entrance fees.

Peak times cluster around 4 p.m. on weekdays and mornings on weekends; early afternoon on a Tuesday offers a less crowded visit. The park fills fast on nice weather days. Point Isabel also serves as the starting point for the Bay Trail, which runs several miles in either direction with water views—useful if your dog tires at the park and you want a quieter walk afterward, or if you want to extend the outing. The area draws serious dog people, so you’ll see everything from runners with their dogs to people sitting on the grass while their older dogs enjoy the breeze.
