Point San Pablo Yacht Harbor is located just outside the historic town of Point Richmond and through the “Village of Point Molate.”
The village has panoramic views of the undeveloped coastlines of southern Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties and eastern central Marin County.
If you get off just before the bridge at the Point Molate exit with a spirit of adventure and provisions for your outing, you’ll find a unique community, lots of industrial artifacts, a little stretch of dogs-welcome gravelly beach and stunning bay views at the Point San Pablo Yacht Harbor.
You and your pup are welcome during the day as long as you mind your P’s and Q’s, says harbormaster Roslynn Johnson, who notes that her own family has four rescue dogs.
“We just ask that people be in control of their pets. It is private property, but we have always allowed the public out here during sunrise to sunset hours,” she says.
So stay off the docks, respect the peace and quiet of the folks who live here and enjoy the water and the scenery as a good guest.
