Schimmel Dog Park

Schimmel Dog Park

Schimmel Dog Park is located on the corner of Cucamonga Avenue and I Street in Ontario, California. The park’s name is in dedication to the police service dog, “Ex” Von der Schimmel – Schultz Heide, who was shot and killed protecting his handler, Corporal Ernie Dorame.

The park features separate play areas for large and small dogs, benches, picnic tables, and water fountains for dogs and people. The large dog area is 9700 square feet and has a canine castle, arch runways, natural logs and a jumping bar. The small dog park is 3700 square feet and has a dog ramp and natural logs.
