Since it’s an open-air center, weather is a factor—the Santa Clara Valley can get hot in summer, so early morning or late afternoon walks work better for your dog. The pathways are fairly flat and easy to navigate, and there are plenty of shaded spots near the landscaping. You’ll see other people out with dogs regularly, so it’s generally a welcoming environment for them.

The center is positioned conveniently if you’re already in the Stanford area visiting the campus or exploring Palo Alto. Parking is available on-site, which makes it easy to come and go. If you’re planning to spend more than a quick walk here, keep in mind that your dog will be spending time on pavement and concrete rather than grass, so bring water and plan for breaks.

Store hours run Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Some individual restaurants and stores may have different hours, so it’s worth checking if there’s somewhere specific you want to visit.
