Each of the California Welcome Centers scattered throughout the state are staffed with personal travel concierges. These knowledgeable experts are ready to provide information that will enhance and enrich your visit, including suggestions on where to eat, what to see, and where to stay. They can point you toward dog-friendly restaurants with patios, trails that work well for different fitness levels, and lodging that welcomes dogs without hassle. Welcome Centers also offer free maps and brochures on local attractions and things to see and do, which is especially useful when you’re trying to figure out which hiking trails near Truckee will work best for your dog.

The center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome to come inside with you while you chat with staff and grab those maps and brochures.
