Vintage Public House sits on Market Street with a wraparound patio that catches good light and gives you room to spread out with your dog without feeling crowded. The covered section keeps sun off in summer and provides shelter when the occasional Redding heat spike hits—something we appreciated on an afternoon visit. The kitchen focuses on comfort food done well: burgers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees that lean toward straightforward and filling rather than fussy. The beer selection is solid if that matters to you.
Dogs stay outside on the patio; you won’t be able to bring them into the dining room. The staff brought water for our dog without being asked, and they seemed genuinely unbothered by dogs being there. We didn’t see treat options on a specific dog menu, but the vibe is relaxed enough that asking about scraps from the kitchen wouldn’t feel out of place. No weight restrictions that we encountered, and the patio itself is unfenced, so a reliable recall or a leash you trust matters.
Market Street in downtown Redding is walkable, and the patio faces the street action without being right on top of traffic. Parking is available on the street and in nearby lots. Hours run typical restaurant hours—lunch and dinner most days, though it’s worth checking their website for seasonal shifts. The patio is large enough that you’re not sitting elbow-to-elbow with other diners, and the covered portions mean you can stay comfortable through an early evening in fall or spring. If you’re downtown exploring Shasta Dam or the riverfront parks, this works as a real stop rather than just a quick water break.
