Wavecrest Open Space Preserve

Wavecrest Open Space Preserve

Coastside land trust imageWith sweeping views of the Pacific, it’s no wonder this trail is a favorite for local dog-walkers. The birding here is great too. In the winter, this is one of the most important nesting sites for raptors in the entire Bay Area, so bring your binoculars.

You can do an easy hike along the 0.3-mile Bird Trail, which runs along the north end of Wavecrest, or do a 1.5-mile (roundtrip) section of the California Coastal Trail that runs through the property.

• Length: 4 miles round trip
• Difficulty: easy
• Open to: hikers, dogs on leash, equestrians, bicyclists
• Please remember to Leave Only Paw Prints™
