Waypoint Ventura is a vintage trailer hotel and RV park that renovates and restores vintage trailers to provide a unique hotel experience. Set one block from the Ventura Pier and a short walk to the center of downtown, it’s a genuinely different place to stay with your dog in a beach town setting.
If you’re bringing your own vintage or retro-styled trailer, Waypoint has full hookups available with 20, 30, and 50 AMP outlets, water, and sewer connections. All sites are back-in style and designed to accommodate trailers up to 31 feet, with dimensions of 28 feet wide by 41 feet deep at a diagonal. Sprinter vans are also permitted. If you need to unhitch, you can park your car adjacent to your trailer. Communal restrooms and showers are available for guests.
The hotel’s pet-friendly trailers are for dogs under 35 pounds, with a nightly fee of $50. The catch is that Waypoint has only three trailers set up for dogs, and these can’t be booked online—you’ll need to call directly to reserve one. The pet fee includes water and food bowls plus dog treats, which is a nice touch. You can bring up to two dogs per trailer, but they need to stay on leash while you’re on the property. There’s a strong caveat here: if you arrive with a dog you didn’t arrange ahead of time, you’ll be charged upon arrival, and you’re fully responsible for any damage or injury caused by your dog.
One quirky detail worth knowing—the Waypoint staff reserves the right to pet and hug all dogs on the property. If your dog isn’t comfortable with enthusiastic strangers, that’s something to consider. The location itself is excellent for exploring Ventura’s downtown shops and restaurants, plus easy beach access via the nearby pier.
