Hope S. and her dog Dreyfus take a mini vacation to Lake Tahoe and write in to tell us all about their dog-friendly adventures:

Hope and Dreyfus at Emerald Bay
In a short but sweet 24 hours, my dog Dreyfus and I got to see Emerald Bay in the late afternoon sun and then spend the night at the cozy dog-friendly Beach Retreat & Lodge at the foot of the mountains on the shores of the Lake.

Dreyfus gets cozy at the Beach Retreat & Lodge

Stunning view of the lake
The inviting pier on the property beckoned us to walk out and take in the panoramic views that make Lake Tahoe so legendary. Dreyfus trotted along happily, nose in the air, clearly enjoying the lake breeze as much as I was.

Dreyfus stays warm by the fire at the Beach Retreat Lodge.
We finished the evening with a fabulous meal complete with a live saxophonist at the hotel’s own Boathouse on the Pier, followed by a relaxing warm-up next to the fire pit in the courtyard. Dreyfus curled up beside me, perfectly content after a full day of exploring.
The Beach Retreat & Lodge is one of those Tahoe properties that truly rolls out the welcome mat for dogs. The rooms are spacious enough for a dog bed, and the grounds give you plenty of space for morning and evening walks along the waterfront. The location on the South Shore puts you within easy reach of dog-friendly beaches, hiking trails, and restaurants with outdoor patios where your pup can join you.
What stands out about Hope’s trip is how much she and Dreyfus packed into just one day and night. You don’t need a full week to make great memories with your dog at the lake. A quick overnight can be just the reset you both need, especially when your lodging is this welcoming. If you’re looking for a Tahoe getaway that won’t require a ton of planning, the Beach Retreat is a solid pick for dog owners who want comfort, scenery, and easy access to the water.
Thanks to Hope and Dreyfus for sharing their adventure with us!
