Things have been pretty lively over at the East Bay SPCA lately. Especially since the Oaktown Pup video, featuring EBSPCA dogs, people, and even Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf showing off their dance moves, went viral — it passed 1 million views some time ago.
All that excitement is good news for dogs who find themselves enjoying EBSPCA's hospitality while they wait for their forever families. Dogs like the lovely Juno, a young husky mix currently staying at the Dublin adoption center. She's an independent, free-spirited girl seeking a lifelong companion who loves her brains as well as her beauty. Juno won't respond well to heavy-handed treatment; she'll do best in a respectful collaboration where she understands what's expected of her, and why.
Coming up on Sunday, May 17, is EBSPCA's annual fundraising gala, Growl, Meow & Wine, an evening of fine food, drink, and silent auction items that supports a wide range of programs dedicated to keeping people and their pets together. Besides providing a safe haven for waiting adoptables, EBSPCA offers community resources from dog training classes to kids' animal camps, and vet services including low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics. Grow, Meow & Wine is a fun, elegant evening that helps Oaktown Pups — and Dublin Pups too! Get tickets.
