Join us for a scenic winter snowshoe adventure near Donner Summit, one of the most beautiful and accessible alpine areas in the Sierra Nevada. This beginner-friendly outing takes you through peaceful snow-covered forests, open meadows, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the surrounding peaks. Along the way, you’ll learn basic snowshoe techniques, enjoy a relaxed pace perfect for all experience levels, and take in the quiet beauty of the winter landscape.

Registration covers the rental of snowshoes and interpretive guided hike.

The anticipated distance is about 3 miles out and back.

Location: Donner Summit Sno-Park Trailhead

Cost: $30

If snow conditions are not appropriate for snowshoeing, this event may become a hiking tour. We will check the weather and conditions before the event and try to update the group if it looks like there will be a lack of snow.

Location may change to another location in the Tahoe area if snow is present in other areas.

Also, snowstorms or chain restrictions would postpone the hike.
