Held as part of the larger 4th of July Celebration, the Dog Parade invites pet owners to dress their furry friends in patriotic costumes and march through Moraga Commons. The parade will begin at the Band Shell and follow the pathway around the park, passing by many spectators, judges, and a "grandstand" announcer. Families are encouraged to dress up, dress their dogs, and participate all together. Following the parade, awards will be announced at the Band Shell.
Awards (and small prizes) will be given for the following categories:
• Most Patriotic
• All-American
• Most Enthusiastic
• Star-Spangled Family
• Most "Paw-some" Costume
• Little Firecracker
• Big-Bang
• Star of the Show
• Red, White, and Wag Award
• Big Bang Barker
All those who preregister will be given a small gift.
Participant numbers can be picked up at Hacienda de las Flores on July 2 & 3 between 1 pm and 5 pm, or the morning of the parade (July 4) between 9:30 am and 10:45 am on the Band Shell stage at the preregistration table.
RULES
• Pets must remain on a leash and be under owners’ control at all times.
• If your animal bites or is nervous and you do not know how they will react to other animals or people, do not enter them in the parade. Think Safety First for both others and your pet.
• Owners must pick up their pets' “refuse” before, during, and after the parade. Bring the necessary disposable bags and use them.
