Dogs love SoCal outdoors.

When it’s time to stretch your legs and for your fur baby to enjoy plenty of new smells, the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains is a hiking and walking treat. The cool Mediterranean climate and 300 days of sunshine will spoil you and your pet. Join the local dog lover community on the Pacific Electric Trail or head up the mountain to one of several alpine lakes offering shoreline strolls.

It’s GO time nature lovers. There are several top walking trails in and around Greater Ontario, many located at city and regional county parks. Most parks and trails welcome dogs, however, many require leashes. It can be hot in the summer months, be sure to pack water for yourself and your dog. While you’re at it pack a picnic lunch – there are several to-go restaurants in the area.

During the summer months you’ll find a cool spot in the San Gabriel mountains. A favorite hidden gem is Lake Gregory – one of the first lakes as you’re heading up to higher ground. The walking trail that runs along the lake perimeter is a peaceful way to start your day. Farther up the mountain road you’ll come to Lake Arrowhead and then Big Bear Lake.
