Much to adore about Amador County wine

By: DogTrekker Staff
A vibrant dog park bathed in sunlight features abundant greenery with mature trees, offering ample shade for leisurely outdoor activities. In the distance is a well-equipped playground that presents an additional activity area. An inviting picnic table spreads out nearby, ideal for enjoying meals al fresco or taking relaxing breaks from play. A neatly-placed trash bin aids in maintaining the park's cleanliness for everyone's enjoyment. Dominating the scene is a generously wide dirt path gracefully curving through the expanse of grass, promising exploratory walks and lively fetch games.

This beautiful, rolling county southeast of Sacramento is highly regarded both for its wines and historic towns like Sutter Creek and Plymouth that beg lingering. Six dog-friendly wineries on the Amador County Wine Trail are situated in or near Plymouth, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley wine region.

In Sutter Creek, you’ll find about a dozen tasting rooms along Main Street, almost all of which welcome well behaved tail-waggers. Start with Baiocchi Wines and try to coordinate a visit to take in the bi-weekly music series offered on Sunday afternoons April through September.
