As we witness the devastation caused by the wildfires sweeping through Southern California, our hearts go out to all those affected – especially the families and pets who have been displaced or lost their homes. These catastrophic events remind us of how fragile our lives and communities can be, and how important it is to come together during times of crisis.
The DogTrekker team deeply values the bonds we share with our furry family members. We know many of you are eager to help those impacted by these fires. Please consider supporting the organizations below, which are working tirelessly to assist both people and pets in need.
For pets
- Pasadena Humane has taken in more than 400 animals from the Eaton Fire, and they’re urgently seeking donations to help cover the cost of medical supplies for burned and injured animals.
- SPCA LA is rescuing and sheltering animals from fire-affected areas.
- Best Friends Animal Society continues providing round-the-clock support to local shelters in need.
For people

For both

- The company’s Long Beach-Bixby Knolls location has become a donation and distribution center. They’re collecting and supplying pet carriers, crates, beds, bowls, leashes and collars. If you have something to donate or need assistance, please visit them at 4220 Long Beach Blvd. in Long Beach.
- Discounted lodging for those impacted by the fires is available in many neighboring cities and regions. (See below).
We encourage DogTrekker readers to give what you can, whether that’s by donating, volunteering your time, or spreading the word on how to help. Together, we can bring hope and relief to the people and pets facing unimaginable challenges.
