Rocker Oysterfellers

Rocker Oysterfeller’s, now known as Rocker’s Roadhouse, serves Southern-inspired comfort food in the historic Valley Ford Hotel along Highway 1. The restaurant emphasizes ingredients from neighboring farms, ranches and fisheries, with local suppliers including Tomales Bay Oyster Company, Sonoma Mountain Beef and Valley Ford Cheese and Creamery. Naturally, oysters are a specialty: diners can order them raw, simply grilled with butter and lemon, dressed with Louisiana hot sauce or prepared as the restaurant’s signature Oysters Rockerfeller with applewood-smoked bacon, cream cheese and arugula.

The menu offers plenty beyond oysters, combining Sonoma County ingredients with hearty roadhouse cooking. Depending on the season and meal, selections may include seafood, burgers, fried chicken and other farm-inspired dishes, accompanied by local wines, beer and handcrafted cocktails. Sunday brunch brings French Quarter beignets, flaky buttermilk biscuits, deviled farm eggs, Benedicts and substantial brunch plates, with vegetarian and gluten-free choices also available.

Although the Valley Ford Hotel itself is not dog friendly, the patio at Rocker’s Roadhouse is very dog friendly. Guests can enjoy full-service dining with their pups on the heated, pet-friendly patio, or order at the bar and relax in the more casual fruit-orchard garden area. The patio also offers cornhole during happy hour, making this an especially easygoing stop for dog travelers exploring the backroads between Sonoma County and the coast.
