Little River Inn’s popular Water Dog Package invites furry friends to splash and soak in the sun with their families. Offers bundle a two-night stay, generous dinner voucher, pet goodie bag, and your choice of a dog-friendly river canoe outing or sea cave kayaking trip. Planning adventures has never been so easy.
Busy dogs deserve days off, and the Water Dog Package (available May 1 through September 30) pairs coastal exploration with comfy lodging. The main attraction is your choice of an outrigger canoe adventure on Big River, or a sea kayaking tour of the rugged caves off Van Damme State Beach. Both options include special gear that keeps pups safe and central to all the action.
Along with a tour, you’ll enjoy two nights in one of Little River Inn’s ocean-view gas fireplace rooms (pet fee not included and upgrades are available). A welcome bag delivers dog treats and a guide to Mendocino’s pet-friendly hiking, biking and boating options. The package also includes a $120 dinner voucher good in the property’s pup cabanas, on room service orders, or in the main resort restaurant or bar (which do not accommodate pets).
A short trail leads from Little River Inn to the redwoods and beaches of Van Damme State Park. Here, dogs can dip into the waves and stroll on the park’s sandy shores. Leashed walkers are also welcome on the paved roads that connect campground sites. Three miles up Highway 1, the Big River Trail stretches for 10 miles along a haul road with Big River Estuary views. Continue north past Fort Bragg to reach MacKerricher State Park, which allows dogs on select beaches and trails.
