Tables for tail-waggers

Big Bear’s Village rolls out the welcome mat for four-legged diners, with ample summer patio seating, water bowls and the occasional honest-to-dog menu. Whether you’re after a quick slice, a hearty breakfast or a hard-earned craft beer once the festival winds down, here’s where to grab a table with your pup.

In the Village, Oakside Restaurant and Bar backs an expansive outdoor patio with 17 craft beers on tap and an elevated lineup of burgers, sliders and steaks—water bowls and dog treats come standard. A few doors down, enjoy a post-festival slice at Saucy Mama’s, beloved for its hand-tossed pizzas.

For a buzzy scene, 572 Social Kitchen & Lounge offers live music and its own dog menu—a burger and chicken for the pup. Or bring the pup to Wyatt’s Grill & Saloon, where the dog-friendly patio is built for soaking up summer sun. Western-style grub like burgers, wings and flatbreads comes with a full bar, plus live music and line dancing once the evening cools off.

Are breweries more your vibe? Big Bear Lake Brewing Company is famous for treating dogs like VIPs on its patio along Big Bear Boulevard. Got a sweet tooth? Dank Donuts even bakes vet-approved dog donuts so nobody leaves empty-pawed.

For homestyle comfort food, the Teddy Bear Restaurant is a local institution known for scratch-made pies and hearty breakfast plates. Thelma’s Family Restaurant and Bakery goes bigger still, with a vast garden patio that’s ideal for festival groups rolling in together.

Most patios are first-come, first-served on summer weekends, so show up early or call ahead.
