Brian and Tabitha stopped by the DogTrekker booth at the 2016 Bay Area Pet Expo to say hi and introduce us to their pups, Alvin and Theodore. We had so much fun chatting with them about their dog-friendly travels throughout California.
Here are a few of the photos they sent to us of Alvin and Theodore’s California adventures:

Lindsey Lake, Tahoe National Forest

At play in Mendocino

Dogs and cars, Treasure Island

Best buds, Alameda
Alvin and Theodore clearly know how to make the most of California’s dog-friendly destinations. From the alpine beauty of Lindsey Lake in Tahoe National Forest to the rugged coastal trails of Mendocino, these two have covered some serious ground. Lindsey Lake is a fantastic spot for dogs who love to swim, with calm water surrounded by granite boulders and pine trees. The hike in is about 3.5 miles from the trailhead, so it rewards dogs and owners who are up for a moderate trek with a quiet lake that rarely feels crowded.
Mendocino’s headland trails are another great pick for adventurous dogs. The bluffs above the ocean provide miles of walking with salty air and wide-open views, and many of the trails are dog-friendly as long as your pup is leashed. After a day of exploring, the town itself has several restaurants with dog-friendly patios where you can grab a bite.
Closer to home, Treasure Island and Alameda offer easy day-trip options for Bay Area dog owners. Alameda’s shoreline paths along the bay are flat and breezy, perfect for dogs of all ages and energy levels.
Alvin and Theodore’s adventures can be followed on Instagram and Facebook.
