Mendocino County is known for its breathtaking beaches, wineries and even some redwood forests. Hop aboard a historic train with your pup. This adventure takes “Wanna go for a ride?” to epic excitement levels. The century-and-a-half-old Skunk Train starts in Fort Bragg and winds through redwood groves, panoramic trestles and along a stunning river canyon. Pups are welcome on both open and closed carriages.

Chow down on some of the California coast’s best fish ‘n chips at Sea Pal Cove. This seafood shack features outdoor seating that overlooks the Noyo Harbor. Dogs can watch the boats go by (if they aren’t hyper-focused on watching for a dropped French fry.)

Paddle you and your pooch through a tranquil estuary.

Catch A Canoe and Bicycles Too rents hand-crafted, specially-designed redwood outrigger canoes featuring a padded floor so your pup can comfortably keep an eye out for wildlife.  In addition to birds, there may be playful otters and harbor seals to gawk (or bark) at.

Just a five-minute drive from dog-friendly Mendocino Village is a vacation home with wag-worthy features. Enjoy a fantastic deck with sprawling ocean views plus a hot tub for those cool California nights.

Or trot over to nearby trails and beaches. For those mountain mutts, head over to Ukiah for an unforgettable vacation home retreat. Relax by the pool with awesome Ukiah Valley views. Leash up and wander the property’s 10 acres of vineyards.
